Definition of psychotherapy
Therapy is an intentional relationship between two or more people. The intention is for the psychotherapist to help the client-(s) in understanding and resolving interpersonal issues.
I think of therapy as a way to get to know ourselves; being more conscious of who we are and the choices we make. Only then, we can have a true choice in how we want to live our lives. I think there are many ways to get to this place; in my experience psychotherapy is one of the most effective ones.
